Monster of London City is an adaptation of a book by Bryan Edgar Wallace set in 1960's London where a series of brutal slayings evoke the specter of the city's most infamous murderer. The opening night of a play about Jack the Ripper begins the first in a series of real-life murders mimicking the Ripper's famous crimes, where young girls are first strangled and then gruesomely mutilated. As crowds come in record numbers, investigators from Scotland Yard blame the play for the city's growing body count and begin to suspect the parties responsible for the play's creation. As the investigation proceeds, Scotland Yard comes to suspect the play's unstable lead Richard Sand (Hansj''rg Felmy), a devoted method actor, as being the killer. Despite the producer's enthusiasm for the increased box office, the pressure drives Richard to consider abandoning the play, despite his need to prove his worth in society and win the love of his crush, Ann (Marianne Koch). However, unknown to all, the threat of the new Jack the Ripper is closer to home than any realize.moreless
