Montana is an action adventure movie about Morgan Lane (Errol Flynn), a sheepherder who relocates to Montana from Australia. Once in Montana, he quickly becomes embroiled in a conflict between the local cattle barons and sheepherders over grazing rights. To the chagrin of sheepherders, the rich cattlemen have formed a boundary line to keep the sheep from destroying their land. In the midst of the conflict, Lane meets Maria Singleton (Alexis Smith), the main leader of the cattle baron group and her love interest Rodney Ackroyd (Douglas Kennedy). Although Lane and Singleton are on opposite sides of the issue, they have an undeniable attraction to one another. The conflict stands to keep them from acting on their feelings. Kennedy's ruthless tactics cause the violence and bloodshed to reach a fever pitch. It is now up to the most level-headed members of the factions to end what will undoubtedly become an all out war.
