Moon is a critically acclaimed, 2009 science fiction drama about the strange truth of a man's isolation on a lunar work station. Sam Bell (Sam Rockwell), is the only worker on Lunar Industries' "Sarang" base and he is at last nearing the end of his three-year contract. Day by day, Sam goes about his job supervising the largely automated machines that harvest helium-3, Earth's clean fuel source, from the lunar surface. Due to chronic problems with the communications satellites that link the Earth and the Moon, Sam's only real dialogue is with the base's intelligent computer, GERTY (voiced by Kevin Spacey). Falling apart in his last days and anxious to return home to his wife and daughter, Sam hallucinates a teenage girl while driving a rover and crashes, rendering him unconscious. He awakens in the infirmary to mysterious circumstances that test his faith in GERTY and the company. Against orders, Sam investigates the crash site. What he finds in the wreckage changes his life forever.moreless
