Moving Target is a 1988 thriller directed by Chris Thomson. Despite his natural musical talent, Toby (Jason Bateman) is just an average teenager. He leads a contented life with his family, but one summer, his father (Tom Skerritt) and mother (Donna Mitchell) decide that Toby should spend his free time honing his skills as a musician. Toby hates the musical camp and conspires to escape and head back home. He especially misses his friendship with Megan (Chynna Phillips), a beautiful girl who seems open to the idea of dating Toby. When he sneaks out of summer camp and manages to find his way home, Toby expects his family to be frustrated and annoyed. What he does not expect is that his entire family is gone, vanished without a trace. Toby's house is as empty as if nobody ever lived there. Shocked and devastated, Toby enlists Megan's help as he tries to unravel the mystery and save his family.
