Moving is a 1988 comedy directed by Alan Metter. After Arlo Pear (Richard Pryor) lost his job, things have been tough on the Pear family, including Monica (Beverly Todd), teenage Casey (Stacey Dash) and the twins, Marshall (Raphael Harris) and Randy (Ishmael Harris). Arlo is thrilled when he first learns about a new job, since he is eager to get away from his New Jersey neighborhood and his horrible neighbor, Frank (Randy Quaid). However, when the Pear family starts their move, all kinds of troubles start to pop up. Finding movers is a struggle, since the first men they interview, Perry (Robert LaSardo) and Edwards (Ji-Tu Cumbuka), turn out to be con men. Once the family finally gets on the road, they discover unsettling secrets about Brad (Dana Carvey), the man who is driving the family's SAAB to Jersey. Even before the Pears arrive in Idaho, moving is already one of the most complicated things they will ever face as a family.moreless
