Movie Summary

TV-PG
Mr. & Mrs. Smith, not to be confused with the Brangelina action comedy fest of the same name, is in fact a humorous suspense comedy from maestro Alfred Hitchcock (Psycho, North By Northwest, The Birds, Rear Window, The Trouble with Harry, Frenzy, Marnie, Rebecca, Spellbound). Carole Lombard and Robert Montgomery are the Smiths, a loving but eccentric married couple; they have a rule that they won't leave a room after an argument until they've made up and sometimes it takes days. Mr. Smith makes the stupid mistake of answering the question 'If you had it all to do over again, would you marry me?' He says no, he rather misses his liberty. She's mad, not unreasonably. Then he learns that due to a minor detail they aren't really married, and she finds out too, and is surprised he doesn't tell her'and then she gets mad and leaves him, taking up with Mr. Smith's partner, Jefferson Custer (Gene Raymond). The rest of the movie involves Montgomery's pursuit of Lombard ' and a grand one it is.moreless
