PG-13

Mr. Deeds, directed by Steven Brill, is a comedic retelling of Frank Capra's classic tale. When Preston Blake (Harve Presnell) tragically dies while attempting to summit Mt. Everest, his media empire, Blake Media, is passed on to his closest living relative, Longfellow Deeds (Adam Sandler). Longfellow works at a small-town pizzeria and has no idea of his relation to the millionaire. He is understandably surprised when Blake's right hand man, Chuck Cedar (Peter Gallagher), shows up and offers him the multibillion dollar corporation. Chuck does not have Blake Media's best interest at heart and plans to decimate the company for his own profit as soon as he can convince Deeds to sell his shares. Deeds throws a monkey wrench into Chuck's plans when the country bumpkin arrives in New York City and takes a shine to city life. Hilarity ensues as Deeds tries to fill the shoes of the departed Preston and Chuck tries every trick in the book to get Deeds out of the picture.
