Mr. Jealousy is a 1997 romantic comedy about a struggling school teacher named Lester Grimm (Eric Stoltz), who is obsessed with his girlfriend's ex-boyfriend, Dashiell Frank (Chris Eigeman), a hugely successful novelist. Frank's audiotape books are read by Tom Cruise, he is constantly recognized on the street and he is often called "the voice of his generation." Grimm has literary ambitions of his own but has failed to get his work published. Suspicious that his girlfriend, Ramona Ray (Annabella Sciorra), has rekindled her romance with Dashiell, Lester joins the novelist's group therapy sessions. Posing as his friend Vince, he hopes to learn what the relationship really is between Dashiell and Ramona. Meanwhile, Vince insists that Lester bring up Vince's actual psychological issues to the group for the free psychiatric advice. Will Ramona find out about Lester's ruse? Will Lester finally get over his jealousy? Mr. Jealousy is written and directed by Noah Baumbach.moreless
