Mr. Music is a light, comedic musical from 1950. Paul Merrick (Bing Crosby) is an award-winning, happy-go-lucky, broke, musical genius who gets coaxed into writing a brand new Broadway musical by a cunning young woman. Bing has to work on the score he committed to, but he is lazy and would rather go golfing than write. The show's producer, Charles Coburn (Alex Conway) hires '''Katherine Holbrook (Nancy Olsen) to look after Ben and to make sure he sticks to his writing. Katherine is also in charge of Paul's pay which she is instructed to dole out to Paul as he works on the musical. Paul meets a pretty socialite, Lorna Mavis (Ruth Hussey) and he stretches his allowance a little more than he should. This romance causes complications with his time and expense account. The musical score in this film is by Burke Van Husen. Bing sings a fun duet with Groucho Marx.moreless
