Mr. Wrong is a 1996 comedy directed by Nick Castle. Martha (Ellen DeGeneres) has a successful life. She is in her 30s and has a job as a talk show host. Due to her bad luck in relationships, Martha is still single, although she dreams of settling down. On a particularly lonely and dismal Valentine's Day, Martha heads out to a local bar. To her shock, it seems that she is finally in luck. She meets a handsome stranger, Whitman (Bill Pullman), who seems to share all of Martha's interests and viewpoints. They go home together and it looks like Martha and Whitman are headed for a whirlwind, fairytale romance. However, after spending a little more time with her dreamboat, Martha starts to realize that maybe eternal bliss is not on her horizon. Unfortunately, it will take a lot of work to convince Whitman that they are not made for each other. Martha also has to fend off Whitman's jealous ex-girlfriend, Inga (Joan Cusack), sending her into a spiral of crime and deceit that makes her long for her single days.moreless
