Muhammad Ali: Made in Miami is a sports movie that was released in 2008. The movie tries to take a look at the role that Miami played in the development of one of the greatest boxers of all time, Muhammad Ali, or Cassius Clay as he was known as before. It uses archival footage of Ali to depict these important moments. The movie begins when Clay comes to Miami in 1960, right after winning the Olympic gold medal in Rome, and begins to live in a neighborhood better known as Harlem South. He trains everyday at the Fifth Street Gym, in a bid to become the best boxer in the world. His dedication and courage shine through, as he wins fight after fight and becomes the biggest name of all. He learns more than boxing in Miami, though, as the influence of the civil rights movement leads Clay towards the Nation of Islam separatist group. Eventually he converts to Islam, adopts the name Muhammad Ali, and becomes a man who is famous all over the world.moreless
