Mujeres Infieles, Unfaithful Women in English, is a comedy-drama by Director Rodrigo Ortuzar. With a basis similar to that of the United States’ popular television show ‘Sex and the City,’ Mujeres Infieles presents a portrait of three women’s relationships and stories of infidelity. Ortuzar sets the film in Chile, where a television survey claims that over sixty percent of women are unfaithful. Whether or not that survey is accurate, Ortuzar presents an interesting view of what that may manifest itself as. The women are beautiful, the relationships are complex, the men are not in charge, and having a single partner is not a given. In Mujeres Infieles, Ortuzar takes on the topic that interests so many, from the happily married soccer moms in their suburban nests, to the trendy young women in their big city lofts. With a popular premise and a South American twist, Mujeres Infieles may just have what it takes to become a big movie hit.
