Murder in the Hamptons is a dramatic made-for-TV film directed by Jerry Ciccoritti based on the true story of the murder of multi-millionaire Ted Ammon (David Sutcliffe) supposedly by his wife's lover. Generosa (Poppy Montgomery) had been a poor artist, making her living not doing art but instead selling real estate. When she meets Ted, a wealthy businessman, they could not be anymore different Ð she was the exotic starving artist and he was the ritzy smooth talker. Their marriage lasted in wedded bliss for a few years, adopting two beautiful twins, until Generosa begins to fall into paranoia that her husband is not as devoted as he should be. As their divorce begins a bitter battle with Generosa demanding custody and their multi-million dollar mansion in the Hamptons, she begins an affair with the electrician Danny Pelosi (Shawn Christian) just as Ted is found murdered. Murder in the Hamptons is a suspenseful look at who could have committed the murder Ð the spurned and temperamental ex-wife or her criminal new boy toy with access to Ted'smoreless
