Murder, Inc. is a crime drama based on a real-life crime machine that plagued New York City in the 1940s. Natural born killer, Abe Reles (Peter Falk), gets a job from mob boss Louis "Lepke" Buchalter (David J. Stewart), to kill Walter Sage (Morey Amsterdam), who is stealing from the organization. Joey Collins (Stuart Whitman), who is a friend of Sage and owes Reles money, agrees to help the gangster get close enough to kill his target to erase his debt. After the murder, Reles tells Joey and his attractive wife Eadie (May Britt), that he'll kill them if they talk. The hot-headed Eadie doesn't like Reles' threat and kicks him out of their apartment. After a few hours, a drunk and angry Reles returns, finds Eadie alone and rapes her. Eadie leaves Joey after he refuses to leave town with her. Meanwhile, the new NY district Attorney Burton Turkus (Henry Morgan), with the help of detective Tobin (Simon Oakland), vows to clean up Brooklyn and rid it of Murder Inc. A paranoid Lepke, then puts out death warrants on everybody, and a scared Eadie offers Turkus her testimony for protection. Now Reles, Joey, and even Eadie herself are in a fight for their lives as Lepke tries to clean up his mess.moreless
