MVP: Most Valuable Primate is a fun comedy film centered around a nimble little chimpanzee who excels in sports. The film was released in 2000 and was such a success, two sequels were made afterwards. Dr. Kendall (Lomax Study) is a scientist who studies the effects of sign language on primates. His main subject in his experiments is Jack the chimpanzee, whom he grows quite fond of during their time together. Unfortunately, funding for Dr. Kendall's research is cut short, and Kendall's boss, Dr. Peabody (Oliver Muirhead) takes Jack away. Jack is accidentally misplaced in Canada, instead of being transferred to another lab. That is when Jack meets the acquaintance of a boy named Steven Westover (Kevin Zegers) who plays ice hockey for his school. Jack joins the team when he shows Steven what great athletic skills he has. But just before Steven and Jack compete in a championship tournament, Dr. Peabody attempts to steal Jack away.
