My Cousin Vinny is a comedy released in 1992. In this classic fish out of water tale, Billy Gambini (Ralph Macchio) and Stan Rothenstein (Mitchell Whitfield) are two buddies traveling through rural Alabama. After the clerk at a convenience store they had recently visited is murdered, Billy and Stan are mistakenly charged with the crime. Desperate for help, Billy calls his mom who sends down Billy's cousin, Vinny Gambini (Joe Pesci) to defend him in court. The only problem is that Vinny, a personal injury lawyer, has never actually tried a case in court. This quickly brings him into conflict with the conservative judge presiding over the trial, Chamberlain Haller (Fred Gwynne). With the help of his brash fianc'', Mona Lisa Vito (Marisa Tomei), though, Vinny begins to peck away at the case against Billy and Stan. The only question is whether Vinny and Mona Lisa will be able to find enough evidence to prove their innocence.
