My Five Wives is a story of a quiet, small town, some simple real estate deals, and an accidental case of bigamy. Monte Peterson (Rodney Dangerfield) is a real estate mogul who is riding high financially but is down on his luck relationally. He's going through his third divorce. He decides to move to a little town in Utah and buy a potentially lucrative piece of land there. He knows that in order to live in the town, he'll have to convert to the local religion. What he fails to see in the fine print is that when he buys the land, he inherits the three wives of the former owner. He narrowly beats out local banker, Preston Gates (John Byner). Peterson then decides to buy a second piece of land and inherits two more wives. Peterson's management of his harem is hilarious enough before he faces the ensuing trouble. Gates won't accept no for an answer, because he wants to build a casino on the land. Peterson must fend off the competition, build a home with his five wives, and survive a trip to Las Vegas, all of which come with chaos, laughter, and fun.moreless
