My Little Pony: The Movie is a 1986 animated film based on the Hasbro line of toys of the same name. All is well in the Dreamcastle. Lickity Split and Spike are practicing their new dance for a big pony performance. Elsewhere, at the Volcano of Doom, the evil Hydia has created a new substance called Smooze. Smooze is a dark sludge that will turn anything it touches into a more mean-spirited version of themselves. During the pony dance performance at the Dreamcastle, Lickity Split tries to hog the spotlight and is reprimanded by the other ponies. She is so embarrassed that she runs away from the Dreamcastle. While the ponies begin to search for Lickity Split, Hydia releases the Smooze. The ponies must save Lickity Split and Spike before the Smooze covers the whole world.
