My Lucky Star is the story of upstate college student Krista Nelson (ice skater Sonja Henie) who is paid by a New York City department store to wear their latest fashions around campus. Krista is chosen for this task when the son of the store's owner, George Cabot, Jr. (Cesar Romero), sees her amazing talent as an ice skater. He procures a college scholarship for her hoping her skating, and not too mention her beautiful body, will attract attention to her clothes. The sales pitch doesn't seem to be working as her classmates resent her classy wardrobe. Complicating matters, Krista falls in love with one of her professors, Larry Taylor (Richard Greene), and is expelled from school. Without a job or a place in school, Krista must find a way to make money. Highlighted by Henie's skating, especially her Alice in Wonderland ice ballet, My Lucky Star is a funny and engrossing story from old Hollywood.
