PG-13
My Mom’s New Boyfriend is a romantic comedy film directed by George Gallo that centers on FBI Agent Henry Durand (Colin Hanks) as he realizes just how things change after a few years of being away. His mom, Marty (Meg Ryan), had been an isolated wreck when his dad died in jail but now, she is the belle of the ball with a revolving door of boyfriends. When Henry comes home with a new fiancée in tow, Emily (Selma Blair), he finds himself a little at odds with his new mom. It is always awkward to watch a parent date, but it enters into even stranger territory when watching his mom with a new beau, Tommy Lucero (Antonio Banderas) becomes his job. It seems that Tommy just might be an art thief and it is Henry’s job to catch him in the act, even if it means tapping his mother’s phones and watching them from the street. Overprotective takes on a whole new definition.moreless
