My Son, the Hero, is an Italian film following the popular sword and sandals narrative. The film focuses on Cadmus (Pedro Armendariz), the king of Thebes. Cadmus, drunk with power, declares himself a god and bans the worship of the current god Jove. Jove, irate that he has been unseated, sends his Titan, Crios, to avenge Cadmus and wreak havoc in his kingdom. Crios, upon his arrival, fights and defeats Cadmus' warrior, Rator. While in Cadmus' kingdom, Crios falls in love with the King's daughter, Antiope. Even as the movie takes on a more romantic feel, there is no let-up in the action. Crios slays a Gorgon loyal to Cadmus and frees fellow titans who have been held captive. My Son, the Hero is an enthralling and exhilarating movie that is full of action, excitement, drama and romance. The classical style and plot make My Son, the Hero a timeless classic.
