In the film, a mysterious vampire, Von Housen (Bela Lugosi), arrives in London, England, with the hopes of finishing his experiments that will allow him to completely take over the world. His plans go awry when a shipment he was expecting is inadvertently delivered to Mrs. Riley (Arthur Lucan), an old Irish working-class woman. Von Housen desperately needs the shipment because it has essential parts of his lastest experiment. Without the shipment, his plan to take over the world will fail. Von Housen is frustrated with the mishap and decides he must acquire the package by any means necessary. Not wanting to risk being exposed, he decides to take Mrs. Riley also. However, his plan does not go as well as he intended and his mission encounters more difficulties than he expected.
