My Year Without Sex is 2009 Australian comedy film written and directed by Sarah Watt. Natalie (Sacha Horler) and Ross (Matt Day) are living a good life before an emergency situation leads to the couple's financial and emotional difficulties as they raise a family of two kids. A doctor diagnoses Natalie with brain aneurism after her sudden collapse during a regular medical checkup in August. The doctor advises that she needs an immediate brain operation. After the operation was successfully performed, the couple now lives on a tight budget. What makes their situation even worse is the doctor's advice to avoid anything that triggers aneurism for a year such as sneezing, orgasm, happy gatherings during Christmas and other holidays, serious topics about religion, and other frightful things. The holiday season is on its way and the couple are struggling financially. Natalie and Ross must somehow find a way to live their lives favorably in a very unfavorable situation for a year.moreless
