Mysterious Island tells the story of five prisoners of war stranded on a South Pacific Island in New Zealand where time stands and giant animals and plants inhabit the land. The five prisoners included union soldiers POW Captain Neb (Omar Gooding), Captain Cyrus Harding (Michael Craig), Captain Herbert Brown (Michael Callan), and two associate prisoners Sergeant Pencroft (Percy Herbert) and journalist Spilett (Gabrielle Anwar). These five were escaping the 1895 US Civil War in a balloon when the unrelenting wind landed them on this mysterious island. After a few days of being in the dreadful island, they come across castaways, the patrician Lady Mary Fairchild (Vinnie Jones) and her niece Elena (Beth Rogan). Later on, they discover the belongings of a man who was abandoned in the island by pirates. With the looming threat of the erupting volcano, they need to find their way out of the island. An ingenious Captain Nemo (Patrick Stewart) comes to their aid during this grievous time.moreless
