Mystery of the 13th Guest is an adaptation of a murder mystery written by Armitage Trail, best known for writing Scarface. This twisted tale tells of Marie Morgan (Helen Parrish) as she arrives by taxi at the closed up estate of her deceased grandfather for the reading of his will. 13 years ago, a younger Marie Morgan attended a family party hosted by her grandfather at the very same house. During the dinner party, at which there were 13 place settings but only 12 guests, her grandfather announced that his inheritance would be revealed in 13 years. Now that the time has come for the will to be revealed, Marie enters the dark house once again. Her taxi driver, alarmed by a gun shot, discovers Marie's dead body seated at the dinner table in the exact spot of the missing 13th guest. As more family members meet their demise in the grandfather's house, it is up to private investigator Johnny Smith (Dick Purcell) and Detective Speed Dugan (Frank Faylen) to unravel The Mystery of the 13th Guest.moreless
