Nacho Libre is a 2006 comedy directed by Jared Hess. In a small, Mexican monastery, Ignatio (Jack Black) works as a cook for young orphans. He secretly wants to become a professional wrestler, or luchador, but he knows that the monastery upholds the belief that wrestling is sinful. After he is robbed of the orphans' meager dinner fare one night, he decides to secretly defy the friars by putting on a mask and taking the new persona of Nacho Libre, an exuberant, highly animated wrestler. With the help of a new friend, Steven (H''ctor Jim''nez), Ignatio begins to perform in local wrestling matches to win money to buy the orphans more food. When the monastery discovers Ignatio's hidden life as a luchador, Ignatio struggles to gain the friars' acceptance as he also tries to break through the unyielding heart of Sister Encarnaci''n (Ana de la Reguera), his chaste ladylove.
