National Geographic: Iraq's Guns for Hire is just one part of a larger National Geographic series that profiles some of the most common, yet intriguing things that occur and surround us in the world today. Each program runs just under an hour in length and brings us deep into the unknown to better understand what is sometimes right in front of us. In this segment, National Geographic explores the thrilling and dangerous lives of for-hire mercenaries that transport V.I.P.'s and critical supplies through some of the most dangerous war zones in Iraq. For $600 a day, these groups of men will put their lives on the line to save yours. National Geographic teams up alongside three teams of these private security contractors as they head out on missions within the "kill zone" to show us just how these men survive on the war torn streets and keep prepared for anything and everything unexpected. Watch as they show us how their heavily armored vehicles and specially modified weaponry keep them out of the sights of hostile insurgents.moreless
