Necessary Evil is a 2008 thriller directed by Peter J. Eaton. Dr. Fibrian (Lance Henriksen) is a researcher at the Edgewater Psychiatric Institute, where the FDA secretly tests new drugs far from public scrutiny. Lately, Fibrian has been toiling on something new, Reficul. To speed up his progress, Fibrian tests the drug on inhabitants of an unsuspecting town leading to side-effects and rumors of violent monsters. Eager to stand in his way are knowledgeable Detective Russo (Eric Feldman), still hurting from the disappearance of his daughter years before, and an intrepid reporter named Deborah Fielding (Katherine Fiore) who sees this story as her chance to take down the FDA. Working with and around the police, Fielding follows one frightening lead after another as she makes her way deep into a massive conspiracy that blends psychology and the supernatural and reaches up to the highest echelons of power.
