PG-13

Never Been Kissed is about Josie Geller, a news reporter who gets a second chance at her high school experience for an assignment her boss gives her, but has flashbacks to her tortured unpopular past when popular Guy Perkins deems her uncool, until her brother Rob comes to the rescue. When intelligent but anti-social Josie is chosen by her boss Gus for the job, her outgoing friend Anita and Rob, a former high school baseball champion who now works at a shipping office, both think it's a terrible idea. When Josie was actually in high school, she was tormented by her fellow students and nicknamed 'Josie Grossie' She starts off her research at South Glen South the same way, constantly being embarrassed by her peers and teachers, including Guy and popular girls Kirsten, Kristen, and Gibby. She befriends Aldys, a nerdy but nice girl, and joins a mathlete group with her, but this is not the story that Gus wants for the paper, and he demands that she become friends with the popular crowd. When Rob enrolls at South Glen South as well, he proves that all it takes is one person to think you're cool, and spreads rumors about how cool Josie is, earning her instant acceptance at the cost of her true friend, Aldys. Josie has also grown close to her English teacher, Sam Coulson, whom she might be attracted to in the outside world but is off-limits while she poses as a student. Josie must decide if popularity is worth sacrificing her values and genuine friends, figure out how to get her story and maybe even get kissed- really kissed- for the first time.
