Never Love a Stranger is a film about Frankie Kane (John Drew Barrymore) who was raised in a strict Catholic orphanage. He soon befriends a Jewish law student named Martin Cabell (Steve McQueen) and his sister Julie (Lita Milan). When Frankie turns sixteen he learns that he is Jewish and is kicked out of the Catholic orphanage. Seeing no other escape, he turns to a life of crime in order to meet his basic needs. When Frankie returns to his old stomping grounds he finds that his old friend Martin is now the District Attorney. The two are at odds until Julie reenters the picture and Frankie starts to question his ways. Will Frankie clean up his act in the name of love? The film is directed by Robert Stevens. Both the novel and screenplay were written by Harold Robbins. It stars a talented cast consisting of John Drew Barrymore, Lita Milan, Steve McQueen and Robert Bray.
