Never Wave at a WAC is the story of Jo McBain (Rosalind Russell), a recently divorced upper class woman who falls in love with a lieutenant named Schuyler 'Sky' Fairchild (William Ching). Sky is too dedicated to his life in the military, however, so the two spend very little time together. To remedy this, Jo decides to join the Women's Army Corps. Her reasoning is that she will be able to leave the army any time she wants due to her high-up connections in Washington D.C. Her ex-husband, Andrew (Paul Douglas), finds out about this and decides to teach Jo a lesson she will not soon forget. He calls in a few favors and ensures not only that Jo will be stuck in the WAC for as long as possible, but that she will be treated worse than all the others. Jo figures this out and realizes that the only way to make it out is to tough it out and complete her training.moreless
