Neverwas is a film made by British director Joshua Michael Stern starring Britney Murphy, Aaron Eckhart, Ian McKellen and Nick Nolte. The story centers around a well-educated and tenured psychiatrist named Zach Riley (Aaron Eckhart) as he embarks on a journey to reveal a dark family secret from the past. Zach holds a prestigious position as a professor at a local university when he decides to leave it for a position at Millwood, an institution for the mentally disturbed. What Zach does not reveal to Dr. Reed (William Hurt), the owner of the institution, is that he is there because his father, T.L. Pierson (Nick Nolte) once lived there as a patient and wrote a children's book called 'Neverwas', before committing suicide. He has joined Millwood in hopes of bringing some closure to his father's curious existence. As Zach acquaints himself with his new surroundings, he befriends a patient named Gabriel Finch (Ian McKellen), and an intern named Maggie Blake (Brittany Murphy) who read 'Neverwas' as a child. Through his relationships with his new friends, Zach realizes there are more similarities between the story of 'Neverwas' and certain events in his life. Could Zach be the very hero of his father's book? Watch to find out!moreless
