New Adventures of Tom Sawyer

Movie Summary

Director:
Adam Weissman
Released:
1998
Rating:
PG

New Adventures of Tom Sawyer is a new spin on the classic tale of Tom Sawyer. It is set in the small town of Stow Falls. The town desperately needed a new recreation center and the local merchants decided to make a deal with the children in the town in order to get the money for the building. The deal was that if the kids clean up the whole town, then the local merchants will donate all the money for the recreation center. The kids do have an incentive to clean up the town too. For each chore they complete, they will receive one token, then the kid with the most tokens at the end of the summer will win two summer passes to the town's amusement park. Tom Sawyer (Phillip Van Dyke) hears all about this and cons a lot of the kids in town to do all the chores for him and then give him their tokens. He is up to no good, but hopes that he can succeed just like he has in the past. At the end of the summer, will Tom get away with his prank?
