New Jack City is a 1991 crime drama starring Wesley Snipes, Ice-T, Allen Payne, Tracy Camilla Johns, and Chris Rock in a story about an ambitious drug dealer in New York City who leaves a trail of destruction behind him as he rises to dominance during the 1980s crack cocaine epidemic. Snipes plays Nino Brown, who leads the quickly-rising gang the Cash Money Brothers. Brown becomes the mastermind behind a giant crack cocaine operation and the focus of an expansive NYPD investigation trying to solve the drug crisis. Ice-T plays Scotty Appleton, a cop who has vowed to take Brown out by going deep undercover as part of Brown's gang. As Brown's hunger for power alienates him from the rest of his gang, the cops get closer and closer to taking him out once and for all.
