New World Disorder is a 1999 techno-thriller involving hackers and the dangerous power computers have over every day lives. In the Silicon Valley, information is worth more than gold. Criminal Kurt Bishop (Andrew McCarthy) has formed a gang of computer pirates that adroitly steal million-dollar computer systems. During a heist at Dynaphase, they chance upon two renegade employees working on a secret encryption project. Bishop recognizes the astronomical value of the discovery, and brutally takes what he wants. He only needs to track down a complementary chip design before he can cash in on his high stakes prize. Detective David Marx (Rutgur Hauer) doesn't believe in technology, but this old-school policeman learns to respect its power when he's put on the case. The psychopathic Bishop enjoys toying with old-timer by wiping out his bank account, while plotting his next move. So computer whiz Kris Paddock (Tara Fitzgerald) joins forces with Marx in a high-tech manhunt where the future can be wiped out with a keystroke.moreless
