New York Cop is a 1993 dramatic action crime film, allegedly based on a true story, directed by Toru Murakawa. In the film, Toshi (Toru Nakamara) is a young Japanese martial artist living in New York City and working with the NYPD. Impressed with his work at the police department, Toshi is recommended, by his superiors, for an important undercover assignment. The target of the investigation is a gang leader, Hawk (Chad McQueen), who is in charge of the gang, The Brotherhood. The gang is suspecting of supplying guns to bigger crime organizations, which include Columbian drug lords and the Japanes Yakuza. Toshi is confident in his abilities regarding the assignment, and is quickly able to infiltrate the gang and befriend Hawk. However, Hawk's right hand man, Tito (Manny Perez), is suspicious of the newcomer. Will Toshi be able to bring down Hawk and The Brotherhood, or will he be outed by Tito before he gets the chance?
