Niagara is a 1953 dramatic thriller directed by Henry Hathaway. In this film noir, Ray (Max Showalter) and Polly Cutler (Jean Peters) are celebrating their honeymoon in Niagara Falls, Canada. The trip gets off to a rocky start when the couple's reserved cabin is erroneously given away to another couple. The Cutler's are not happy about this, but they decide not to let this get in the way of enjoying each other and their time together. While strolling around they meet George (Joseph Cotton) and Rose Loomis (Marilyn Monroe), another married couple vacationing at the Falls. George is an Army veteran and Rose is much younger than him and it is obvious they have a difficult marriage. While sightseeing Polly accidentally spies Rose interacting with another man. She tries to explain it to her husband Ray, but he does not believe her. When George is reported missing, Polly gets caught up in more than the beautiful scenery around her.
