Nick and Norah's Infinite Playlist is a 2008 romantic comedy directed by Peter Sollett. It is based on a 2007 novel by Rachel Cohn and David Levithan. Nick (Michael Cera), a bass player for a band called The Jerk-Offs, is devastated after beautiful Tris (Alexis Dziena) breaks up with him. In order to get her back, he creates mixed tapes of his favorite songs and gives them to her as presents. When she throws them in a trashcan, her arch enemy Norah (Kat Dennings) picks them up and listens to them. When Nick is playing with his band at a bar one night, he meets Norah. After he shares a romantic kiss with her in front of Tris, the pair set off on a quest to find Norah's drunk friend, Caroline (Ari Graynor), and to figure out the location where their favorite indie band is playing. Meanwhile, jealous Tris and Norah's ex-lover Tal (Jay Baruchel) are determined to break up Nick and Norah.moreless
