Night Nurse is a 1931 mystery film directed by William A. Wellman. Lora Hart (Barbara Stanwyck) is denied a job as a nurse trainee by Miss Dillon (Vera Lewis) because she did not graduate from high school, but luckily Lora meets hospital chief of staff Dr. Arthur Bell (Charles Winninger) and he gives her the job. Lora is eventually hired by a rich couple to be a private caregiver for their sick children. One night at a party they are throwing, Lora is harassed by many drunk guest until Nick (Clark Gable) saves her by knocking one of them out. When Nick tells Lora she has to pump the stomach of her employer, she refuses so Nick knocks her out too. Lora begins to suspect that the sick children she is caring for are being slowly killed. She must try and prove that the medicine being given to them is slowly killing them.
