Night of the Strangler is a drama that was released in 1972 and directed by Joy N. Houck, Jr. The story set in New Orleans centers around a black man (Michael Anthony) and his wealthy white girlfriend Denise (Susan McCullough). At the time the south is still very prejudice and the relationship is not welcomed by many people around them. When Denise becomes pregnant with the black man's child the situation escalates quickly. Denise's brothers Vance and Dan have very different reactions to the her pregnancy. Vance (Mickey Dolenz) is very compassionate and supportive of his sister's pregnancy. Her other brother, Dan (James Ralston) is an arrogant racist and he disowns his sister on the spot. Shortly after disowning Denise, she is murdered by a strangler. The killer disguises the killing as a suicide. A black priest (Chuck Patterson) attempts to console the brothers. When that fails to work, the priest begins investigating the murder on his own. While investigating the murder another string of murders occurs. The easy suspect is Denise's distraught brothers, but the priest is running out of time and more women are dying.moreless
