Nightscare, AKA Beyond Bedlam, is a 1994 horror film directed by Vadim Jean that was based on the novel by John Brosnan. The film follows Dr. Stephanie Lyell (played by Elizabeth Hurley) as she begins testing an experimental neurotransmitter that she has injected into the brain of a notorious serial killer named Marc Gilmour (played by Keith Allen). Soon after the tests begun two people die within the doctor's apartment building mysteriously. These deaths raise the suspiciosns of the homicide detective Terry Hamilton (played by Craig Fairbass) who connects the deaths to the weird side effects of what has been put into Gilmour. Stephanie and Terry begin having terrible dreams and hallucinations and realize they have somehow become trapped within Gilmour's nightmare world. Can they escape? This is a trashy horror film that should only be watched under the conditions of knowing that it is a bad, poorly made dumb movie.
