Nine Dead is a 2010 dramatic crime thriller directed by Chris Shadley. In the film, nine strangers have been kidnapped and are being held captive in a basement handcuffed to individual poles. The kidnappers are all confused about why they are there. Their confusion is only compounded further when the kidnapper walks into the room to greet them. The kidnapper instructs the group that they must figure out how they are connected and why he has chosen to kidnap them. He promises them that he will return every ten minutes to check on their progress. At each check-in, if the captives have not made the progress he desires, he will kill one of them. The game only ends when they are all dead, or they have figured out the puzzle. Some of the kidnap victims include a petty criminal (John Cates), a scummy Vegas club owner (Chip Bent), a police detective (William Lee Scott) and a priest (Marc Macaulay).
