No One Killed Jessica takes a riveting look at the true life events that led to reform in the Indian justice system. Manish Bhardwaj (Mohammed Zeeshan Ayyub) shoots Jessica Lall (Myra Karn) at a New Delhi bar in front of dozens of witness. In spite of overwhelming evidence, Mannish will be acquitted of the crime because of his father's powerful position as a Member of Parliament. Jessica's sister Sabrina (Vidya Balan) watches as her mother passes away, her father is hospitalized, and her own feelings of hopelessness grow. Then journalist/activist Meera Gaity (Rani Mukherjee) takes an interest in the case and begins to report on the police corruption and a stagnant legal system that conspires to serve the wealthy. Sabrina and Meera join forces and inspire nationwide protests leading to a reopening of the case, and long-awaited justice for Jessica. Director Raj Kumar Gupta stays close to actual historical events, without sacrificing an engaging and suspenseful Bollywood style.
