No Way To Treat A Lady is a 1968 black comedy/thriller from director Jack Smight, adapted from a novel by William Goldman. Christopher Gill disguises himself as various characters, cons or charms his way into the homes of middle-aged women and then kills them. After his first murder is described as "well-planned" by investigating detective detective Morris  ("Mo") Brummel, he takes to calling up the cop to let him know about subsequent crimes. Brummel's problems are alleviated somewhat when he falls in love with Kate, who has actually seen Gill on his way to a victim (albeit in disguise); but the killer is watching both of them...
