Nobelity is an indie documentary written and directed by Turk Pipkin and released in 2006. The film explores some of the world's most pressing challenges, like hunger, poverty and deplenishing resources through the eyes of Nobel Prize laureates. The film specifically goes to the United States, France, England, Africa and India to look at the work of nine laureates and explore the work that lead to their honor. Pipkin interviews Wangari Maathai, Steven Weinberg, Jody Williams, Rick Smalley, Sir Joseph Rotblat, Desmond Tutu, Dr. Harold Varmus, Amartya Sen and Ahmed Zewail and asks each to define the problem they see in the world, the effect it will have on the world's children and what they see as a possible solution. The film is designed to make viewers think about what change they as an individual need to make and what changes society needs to make to right the world's most dangerous wrongs.
