Noise, an Austrian film directed by Matthew Saville, is set in Sunshine, a place where there are two possible murders that can be connected. One is an engaged woman in Sunshine, and that of seven passengers on a train in Melbourne's inner west. Then, the plot focuses on Lavinia Smart, a young woman who went on the trains right after the murders, and police Constable Graham McGahan, who is dealing with increasingly severe tinnitus. Constable McGahan takes the night shift of a police information van in the inner-western Melbourne suburb of Sunshine, where he finds the traumatized members of the local community. Then, the film explores the fear Lavinia is in after the horrific events she witnessed.
