Nomads is the 1986 debut horror thriller written and directed by future action maestro John McTiernan (Die Hard, Predator, Last Action Hero, The Hunt for Red October, Medicine Man, The Thomas Crown Affair). French anthropologist Jean Charles Pommier (Pierce Brosnan, Mrs. Doubtfire, Goldeneye, After The Sunset, The Thomas Crown Affair) studies nomadic tribes around the globe. He moves to California and, at the film's opening, we find him at a hospital. He dies there and whispers his last words to Nurse Flax (Leslie Anne Down, The Bold and the Beautiful, The Pink Panther Strikes Again, The Great Train Robbery) who then becomes possessed by his memories. Through flashbacks, she witnesses Pommier's last days as he tracks a modern nomadic gang through the city. However, these nomads may not be human. They may be mythological spirits who have actually been tracking Pommier all along.
