Movie Summary

Joel Gallen
Not Another Teen Movie is a spoof of teen movies from the last 20 years, using plot points from She’s All That and Ten Things About You to tell the story of Jake Wyler (Chris Evans) taking a challenge to turn unpopular Janey Briggs (Chyler Leigh) into a prom queen after sexy cheerleader Priscilla (Jaime Pressly) breaks his heart. Jake runs into challenges from his sister Catherine (Mia Kirshner), who wants to have sex with him and Janey’s best friend Ricky (Eric Jungmann), who is in love with her. Catherine eventually helps, taking Janey’s hair out of a ponytail and removing her glasses to reveal that she is actually beautiful. Despite this, the odds are still against Jake as he is haunted by a football failure and his “friendâ€? Austin (Eric Christian Olsen) tricks him into revealing his con to Janey. Meanwhile, Janey’s brother Mitch (Cody McMains) is trying to lose his virginity with his crush Amanda Becker (Lacey Chabert), and plans to give her a letter professing his feelings even though his friend Ox (Sam Huntington) and Bruce (Samm Levine) say it will never work. When the time rolls around for prom, Jake must figure out how to win Janey back even though she’s at the prom with Austin. Other characters based on teen movie clichés or characters from other movies include Deon Richmond as Malik Token, “the token black guy,â€? Cerina Vincernt as Areola, “the naked foreign exchange studentâ€? and Ron Lester as Reggie Ray, “the stupid fat guy.â€?moreless
