Movie Summary

Director:
Unknown
Released:
2013
Rating:
R
The first film from music icon Slash (of Guns N' Roses fame) and the latest from the producers of THE EYE and THE RING, NOTHING LEFT TO FEAR is based on the true-life demonic folklore of Stull, Kansas. Wendy (award-nominee Anne Heche of TV's HUNG) and Dan (James Tupper of TV's REVENGE) move their family from the big city to a sleepy Kansas town and take over preaching duties from retiring Pastor Kingsman (Clancy Brown of TV's SLEEPY HOLLOW). Unbeknownst to them, their new home is actually one of the seven known gateways to Hell. The family's quiet new beginning is savagely derailed by a charismatic but emotionally conflicted man of the cloth. Directed by the protege of award-winner Gore Verbinski, this heart-pounding thriller costars Ethan Gregory Peck (THE SORCERER'S APPRENTICE).

Metacritic Score

  • 30

    The Dissolve Nick Schager

It's stale B-movie rubbish of a barely watchable sort, albeit slightly more depressing than many of its genre compatriots.

  • 25

    New York Post Sara Stewart

Director Anthony Leonardi, in his feature debut, litters the film with inconsistencies.

  • 20

The New York Times Andy Webster

The familiar special effects are not the most disappointing element here. It's the squandering of the talented Ms. Heche, who is given top billing but almost nothing to do.
