Numb is a movie that tells the story of Hudson (Matthew Perry), a man with an unexpected problem. Although he enjoys success as a screenwriter and thinks his life is going well, Hudson wakes up one day unable to feel any emotions. He feels out-of-place in own skin, afflicted by a rare type of depression. Realizing something is wrong, Hudson resolves to return to his old self and seeks the help of one doctor after another, including the unconventional Cheryl Blaine (Mary Steenburgen). Cheryl finds Hudson very attractive and does not exactly mind when he fails to return the feelings. In between trying out different prescription pills and watching long hours of TV, Hudson hopes to trigger a return to his normal life. Then he meets Sara (Lynn Collins), the girl of his dreams. Hudson redoubles his efforts to overcome his condition or at least hide it from the world. Before he can hope for a cure, though, he has to learn important lessons about the meaning of life, love and passion.moreless
